Charlotte

This group revolves around characters who have superhuman abilities as their power(s). Most Puella in this group are from Queens and normally do not have an offensive or melee weapon. An example from the anime would be Homura.

Gertrud

Those in Gertrud commonly consist of characters in Manhattan and have varied age group, their fighting styles can have any weapon/powers/etc. If your character lives in Manhattan, they must be in this group. While not specifically an example, Mami would be specified under Gertrud because she lived exactly in Mitakihara.

Elsa Maria

Characters in Elsa Maria often have long-ranged weapons (ex. bombs, bow and arrows, chakrams, etc.) and live in Brooklyn. Their group often saves their grief seeds for emergencies instead of harvesting them for Zeal or purifying their Soul Gem right away; moreover, they don't divide the amount of grief seeds (whoever did the final blow gets the claim to it), but they actually give each other their grief seeds if it is a dire need. Many of the Magi in this group have wishes concerning others. Their powers often are strength-enhancing for allies, healing, etc. An example from the anime would be Sayaka.

Kirsten/HN Elly

Those in Kirsten are often veterans (16 and up) and are experts in melee weapons (ex. spears, swords, etc.) and live outside of the three specified boroughs (ex. Bronx). However, any character is allowed in this group as long as they have an offensive weapon and their powers vary immensely. An example from the anime would be Kyoko.

Lone Wolves

Lone wolves are characters who do not join any of the groups in the SOSA and fend for themselves. They brutally compete with the association and even murder the group members to take their Grief Seeds to strengthen their own wishes and powers. Many do not like working with partners or other people in general and "fly solo". An example would be Homura (before her true intentions are revealed).
